Show Craqin's Last Aoony. Senator Cragin's amendments to the "bill to aid the execution of the law against polygamy, and to prevent that crime in the Territory of Utah" reached us last night through the courtesy of Hon. W. II. Hooper. It strikes out all of tho original bill after the enacting enact-ing clause, and substitutes the main I features of the Voorhecs bill, which wo have already published, with the difference that grand and petit juries are to be takco from two hundred picked men, instead of one hundred. It also includes one provision of Wheeler's bill, that against marking ballots; and gives the probate courts jurisdiction in civil cases up to three hundred dollars, and in criminal cases the power of commitment. The amended amend-ed bill was reported to the senate on tho 20th of April. |
