Show Theatre, Those who attended the theatre last night enjoyed a rare treat in Mr. Stetson's impersonation of; Edward Middleton, the drunkard. It is some time since we have seen so! powerful and excellent a pice: of acting; act-ing; and in the delirium trotueus scene ho showed the vigor, vividity of conception con-ception and intensely natural dclinea tion which stamps the genuine ait;st. Miss Adams, as Mary Wilson, was ex , cellent as usual; and Mrs. Alice Clawson, as Miss Spindle, gave the neatest piece of character acting we have ever seen her do. It was a capital capi-tal performance. Miss Edith Claw-son's Claw-son's Julia was a noteworthy effort. Mr. Thome as Lawyer Cribbs was villainously vil-lainously up to the mark, and satiificl the audience that Cribbs was a most consummate scoundrel. The performance perform-ance was good throughout. The same drama will be repeated tonight, to-night, followed by the amusing farce of "As Like as Two Peas," Graham, Thorne, Dunne, Miss Adams and Mrs. Bowring in the cast. There will be a grand "Neck and Neck" matinee to-morrow afternoon. |
