Show Dismissed. The case of Officer Wm. Hyde, charged with beating the soldier Michel Geiger, came up in the District Court before Judge McKean, yesterday morning, and was dismissed, the prosecuting attorney withdrawing the charge ?.nd refusing to prosecute. Was this a trumped up charge to create cre-ate a sensation ? And if so, has it accomplished ac-complished its object, or has it entirely failed? We understand that there was not a shadow of foundation for the allegations set forth in the affidavit, and had the case been prosecuted, Officer Offi-cer Hyde could have so made it appear. |
