Show A Fixe Concern. A wa'k th;ougb the establinhment known as the ''Big Boot," the other day, revealed another evideaeo of how our uanafaettiring industries in-dustries are growing. Neary furty hands were at work with the Iat-.-st improved im-proved machinery, and all were a- busy as bees in June turning out boots and shoes of different kinds and of the best quality. Machines were clicking, hammers ham-mers were going, the leather was fal.bg into shape, finished goods were being got ready for market, and yet the supply sup-ply is not equal to the demand. Manufactories Manu-factories of this kind must grow gradually, gradu-ally, and it is gratifying to see them growing as fast as this one, when one thinks how large a quantity effect wear is regularly imported from outside markets. The establishment is in the immediate charge of Mr. Crompton under the superintendency of Mr. Clawson for Z. C. M. I , and from the fact that its goods are in such demand, its ability to compete in quality and prices with imported goods is fully-shown. fully-shown. We would like to see the establishment es-tablishment increased in capacity tenfold ten-fold to meet the public want, and others following in its wake with equal success. This is one of the ways by which solid and permanent prosperity can be built up. The advertisement of the "Big Boot" will be found in another column. |
