Police officer William Hyde was arraigned before Chief Justice Jus-tice McKean yesterday morning.charg-I morning.charg-I ed with assaulting and beating soldier ' Geiger on Sunday last. Judge Hoge appeared for the defence, hut being too sick to attend to the case, asked for a continuance, which the Court granted, holding officer Hyde in $500 bonds for his appearance on Tuesday next So far as we can learn by inquiry the charge is without foundation, which, we are inclined to think, the investigation investiga-tion will show,
