Show GOHG FOR HIS REVERENCE. The following, with regard to a little affair on the banks of Bear river east, is from the Denvei News: At Evanston, Wyoming, the other day. a washerwoman bad tied her clothes line to the corner of the parsonage, parson-age, and the other end to the corner of her own domicile. She was hanging hang-ing out her clothes, when the reverend rever-end gentleman informed her that the holy building could not be desecrated by worldly uses, and in a threatening manner made demonstrations toward the woman to chastise her for her awful sin. She, forgetting for the moment that she was fighting with a servant of the Lord, picked up a sharp hatchet that laid near by and cut his reverence's hand about half off. |
