noble object at which i professes to aim In the confidence of conscious merit 1 courts scrtitinv into its principles and practices with it princples pub the assurance that an enlightened public te lie opinion will render an impartial judgment on the standard of excellence that the order claims The motto of Odd Fellowship Is Friendship Love anti Truth Friendship Trth Is truly a noble sentiment and one that well deserves the exalted assigns to rank which Odd Fellowship ass ens I it In the time of prosperity It is easy tme i to assume a friendly demeanor even professions of love and esteem may coexist proesions exist with the most hollow and superficial super-ficial sentiment But in the season of adversity the professed friend is called adversiy show the denth of his attachment at-tachment the gathering storm and shine brightest in the darkest dark-est hour Love By frequently meeting together to-gether in friendly association the members mem-bers of our fraternity become mutually interested in the welfare of each other A kindly sentiment is thus enkindled in the breasts of all which expanding into a genuine sympathy is ever ready to help a brother when oppressed by affliction disability and in which men of many sects and creeds may cordially cooperate and labor la-bor upon common ground for the relief re-lief of human suffering Such an institution in-stitution is Odd
