Show Arid Land Stntc DENVER Colo Feb 10A special to the Times from Washington says Representative Gamble South Dakota Da-kota early in the present session introduced in-troduced a bill to give each arid land state outright one million acres of land to be disoosed of in such a manner as the legislature of the state might select se-lect and the proceeds be applied to Irrigation purposes Officials of the interior in-terior department have gone even further fur-ther than Gambles bill and will send a recommendation to the house public lands committee that every acre of arid land in the arid states be turned over to these states for irrigation purposes Under such a provision the lands could be sold and the nroceeds expended ex-pended in carrying on such irrigation projects a the legislature of these states might deem advisable |
