any general view confusing and difficult I is fair to state however that in spite of the reactionary course of some stocks the undertone of the market was very firm and even strong In a general way it may be stated that the hishpriced leaders of the market with the single exception ex-ception of sugar came to a halt and even receded while the lowerpriced stocks receed both in the railroad and industrial lists were lifted to a level more commensurate with the high level attained by the leader lead-er grangers except Burlington all closed lower than last night Burlington was sustained bj rumors of anproacnlng action toward refunding some of Its inter estbearing bonds The very cheap rates for money has had the effect of reawakening reawaken-ing Interest In a number of refunding and reorganizing projects which were abandoned aban-doned at the outbreak of the war The lowpriced securities especially those of reorganized railroad companies were taken up in a vigorous way and very generally advanced Union Pacific preferred pre-ferred led In this class and was heavily I bought all day closing with a net gin I of 1 The international stocks suffered 108 selllns for London account
