Show I UST STAY IN JAIL Supreme Court Renders an Opinion in the Cbflln Case WASHINGTON May 4Tn the supreme su-preme court today an pInion was ren I t r = dered in the case of F A Coffin on account ac-count of the wrecking of the Indianapolis Indian-apolis national bank affirming the decision de-cision of the court below and confirming confirm-ing the sentence of imprisonment Coffin was charged with conspiring with Theodore P Haughey president of the Indianapolis national bank to wreck that institution and was sentenced sen-tenced to eight years imprisonment by the United States district court for the district of Indiana The case with I that of Percival B Coffin and others had been heretofore before the supreme su-preme court which reversed the finding find-ing of the district court and ordered anew a-new trial This new trial resulted in a second conviction The present effort ef-fort was dhected at securing a second reversal on numerous assignments of error These were overruled and the judgment of the court below entirely affirmed Justice White delivered the opinion of the court In the supreme court today the solicitor so-licitor general moved to advance for hearing this term the case of Weiberg convicted of aiding a military expedition expedi-tion in aid of Cuba in violation of the neutrality law stating the expedition of the case was desired by the president presi-dent and secretary of state The motion mo-tion was resisted by Mr Phillips for Weiberg morrow The case went over until to |
