members of the order are I adorred with flowers and suitable cere jnoiiies undertaken In all likelihood the day to be set apart in Utah will oe Saturday May 30 Four weeks hence the semiannual I elections of officers in encampments lodges both subordinate and Rebekah occur which is always of primary im ortance in lodge government July I brings installations and hot weather when there is more or less of a rest till fall approaches Active members are therefore busy looking to filling up satisfactory reports to the Grand lodge prior to June SO Rldgely lodge No 9 on Wednesday I J evpninp had a very social meeting although al-though not a large ono and made No 15 a fraternal visit to assist in conferring con-ferring degrees Enterprise lodge No 15 on the same evening had a well filled lodge room I One applicant lor admission by card I was elected and introduced by P G Dr W H Hodges and the second degree de-gree conferred on two members A number of visitors were present and the meeting all through was most interesting I in-teresting The question of bylaws was I before the lodge when a brother advocated advo-cated that the lodge adopt those of Mystic lodge No 22 Several applications applica-tions for membership were spoken of and the lodge is evidently intending to make extra exertions to largely increase in-crease > their number A good letter was read from Brother C C Cline well known here several years ago in onnection with the press but now of I lansas City Mo He tells of the orders i or-ders growth in that state and speaks I i highly = of Salt Lake city which he calls the gem city of ithe golden west and he has certainly not forgotten the I i members of No 15 j I Utah lodge No 1 and Jordan lodge I No 3 had but fair attendances on Thursday evening Regular business I vas quickly disposed of when several brothers received degrees Salt Lake lodge No2 on Friday I night was well attended and several t Important measures were discussed Fidelity Fi-delity lodge No 17 after a good meeting meet-ing joined No 2 in work in the first degree when one member from No2 and one from No 22 were advanced a step in the order Miriam Rebekah lodge No 5 had a well attended meeting on Saturday night Two brothers and one sister were admitted to the degree and one application received Sister Sherrill resigned re-signed her office of C and Sister Strong was appointed and installed grandmaster grand-master maY designate the national hoi iday as the day on which the order will hold its memorial services instead of as has been usual about two weeks ilater It is announced that at
