Show I REPUBLICAN LEAGUE Call Issued For the Annual Meeting Meet-ing of the G O P Star Club STANDS ON ITS RECORD TILE USUAL CAMPAIGN CRY SENT tIP The Boss Republican Club Sends Out a Peeler for the Year 1S3G To D gin n SoCalled Campaign of Education Three Thousand Delegates Will Attend the Meeting Meet-ing to be Held at Cleveland Ohio Chicago March 3L President Tracey and Secretary Humphrey of tho Republican Republi-can National league today issued the following fol-lowing call for the annual Convention of the league To the Republican State Leagues League Clubs and All Republicans In compliance with a provision of the constitution of the Republican National league establishing an annual convention and In accordance with the Instructions of the last national convention at Denver Den-ver the eighth annual convention of the Republican National league of the United I Uni-ted States is hereby called to meet in the I city of Cleveland Ohio Wednesday June 19 1895 at ID o clock a m and continue I con-tinue its session until its business is complete It is proposed to take three days for this convention so that there I I may be ample time for a full discussion on the questions of special interest to the I party at this time The ratio of representation repre-sentation will be six delegatesatlarge from each state and territory four from I each congressional district and one from each college Republican club In the United Uni-ted States represented In the American I Republican College league at Grand Rapids Rap-ids Mich April o 1895 The following are exofficio delegates The president secretary and treasurer of the league one vicepresident and one executive member of the national organization organi-zation from each state and territory and the president and secretary of each state and territory league making four ex officio delegates from each This gives each state practically ten delegatesat large in addition to the four from each congressional district The total representation repre-sentation will exceed 2000 delegates with an equal number of alternates The business of the meeting will Include In-clude reports from the officers of the I league the election of officers vicepresi dents and members of the executive committee I com-mittee for the ensuing year the designation designa-tion of the time and place for the next National league convention a general discussion dis-cussion of league club work party policies poli-cies and organization the formation of a plan of campaign with special reference to the presidential year and a consideration considera-tion of such other questions as the convention con-vention may deem proper The utter failure of the Democratic administration In Its management of both foreign and domestic affairs has created national distrust general paralysis in business and driven capital from the I factories and labor into the streets reduced re-duced tho revenues of tho government and Increased its bond indebtedness I This humiliating condition of national misfortune has eliminated party lines somewhat as indicated by the unprecedented unprece-dented landslide of 1S94 which brought larce numbers of protection Democrats ant Populists into the Republican ranks Those new allies will find ample room and weltome na the Republican platform The Republican party can stand on Its record It has kept faith with the people peo-ple of the United States and has protected pro-tected all their interests both foreign and domestic It has demonstrated its ability to manage the affairs of the government successfully both In war and in peace We believe the United States now recognizes its ability to grapple with and settle satlsfastorily all the great public pub-lic questions of tho day and to meet any emergency that may arise It Is the privilege of the league now l1rn as heretofore to be first in tbe Held to prepare the way for the next campaign It is the only political organization that has kept its forces constantly at work since ISIS and with the coming convention proposes to begin at once a campaign of organization and education throughout through-out the United States on a platform broad enough to attract from all parties men who believe that the principles policies pol-icies and aspirations of the Republican parties are best for tho people of the United States All voters in the United States In sympathy with the above are cordially Invited to join tho Republican League clubs and through the club and state leagues participate in tho election of drtegates to the national league convention con-vention at Cleveland We appeal to the young men of the country particularly the first voters to take advantage of the league plan of organization and form young mens clubs with snccial reference to the campaign of 1896 Special railroad rates have been secured for the convention conven-tion and information concerning the same will be supplied Iw the various slate league officials or direct from the headquarters |
