today in the K of P hall the Workmens bal being occupied by 1 ho A O U W The ladies had a ery arief session this morning hearing reports 4 re-ports of committees and adopting annual an-nual reports of officers f This afternoon they had a session of about three hours devoted almost ex l clusiveJy to social onjoyment and interchange in-terchange of opinions on various subjects sub-jects of interest to the order Short I talks from the various delegates reciting recit-ing the condition and workings of their J respective local lodges were listened to with Interest At 5 oclock they adjourned ad-journed until 0 l oclock tomorrow morning t morn-ing at which time they will elect grand officers for the ensuing year The last arrivals of delegates to theO A the-O 1 W grand lodge some twenty five In number came in by the 1 1 Oclocs train last night The firstv session ses-sion was held at Workmens hall at 9 oclock this morning There were present pres-ent 125 delegates representing numerous numer-ous local lodges of the entire jurisdiction jurisdic-tion of Utah Idaho and Wyoming Election of Officers The morning session was entirely occupied oc-cupied with preliminary work attending attend-ing organization including the examination examin-ation of credentials referring reports of officers to the proper committees etc At the afternoon session the various reports re-ports were returned from the committees commit-tees and adopted Fortyone candidates were then admitted to the grand lodge degree The afternoon session lasted from 2 oclock until 715 p in during the last few the workings work-ings of the order during the past two > ear Lodge were instituted as follows fol-lows Union lodge No 16 Mercur Vtah Riehfieid lodge Xo 20 Richfield Utah Central lodge No 21 Robinson Utah Daly lodge Xo 9 Diamondville AVro Charters were given anew to Ontario lodge No1 and Mount Pleasant lodge Xo 22 because ot the destruction of the originals by fIre Owing to the closing of mines and the disastrous lire at Park City Enterprise En-terprise with Ontario lodge Xo Xo 1 27 had consolidated J Several rulings regarding beneficiary rertilicates have been made by the r grand master the most important of t ttjilch perhaps was the one involved in p the certificates of Brothers Creen and Jeanjaquet The certificate of the for i li < > r was made out to St Marys hospital J md the one of the latter to a friend Under the present law requiring the beneficiary to be a blood relative the grand mate instructed the grand ret re-t corder a follows You will therefore at once notify F t Brothers Crcen and Jeanjaquet that I they must change their beneficiaries to comply with the laws of the order and you will also notify the recorders of their seeral lodges that after a rea sonabl received 262 applications ap-plications granted 260 and rejected two Alfred Moyes deputy grand master i for Idaho had passed on 262 applications p applica-tions for membership and all but two V were accepted p The report of Grand Recorder David Thorburn was most comprehensive com-prehensive and gave detailed Information i In-formation regarding the various vari-ous phases of the work of the order
