Show GOLD MOUNTAIN GOLD i A Tenstamp Mill to Adorn the Mammoth llne S WILL WORK ALL WINTER OUTLOOK GHER THAN EVR BEFORE Cndton atDeer LgeFou Fet of Quartz I the Bottom of t ShftThe Fist Gold Discovery Will Build a Monumet to Idar1 the SpotActvit I Stock Considerable Fluctuation Noticeable Notice-able In the MarketAter Tin tic StrikeDicve of Ore Re pored In the Yankee Consolidated Back Iroin the UthRet of tcOanaughy Incorporation of r McOonauhy Incroration 2 the Iyalale of the Little Jes sire and ulioniver and LeadMining Note and Personals i Gold Mountain gold galore James Long jr of Gold Mountain k fame arrived in the city from Richfield i Monday night with his pockets full to overflowing with gold quartz from his Mammoth mine in Gold Mountain district dis-trict and when seen by a Huald ref re-f porter trct yesterday he was showing these r specimens to his many friends and ac S quaintaces in Zion the samples of ore t being so plentifully sprinkled and per I eated with the yellow metal in its native < na-tive state a to elicit many expressions of surDrise and admiration from those wh were favored with a look at them Besides the Quartz Mr Long had a t carefully ted package in his pocket I I which contained placer gold taken from l the decomDcsd ore found on either I r wal of the Mammoth ledge the gold being Quite coarse the result of a few vannings being sufficient for the making mak-ing of a goodsized ring which Mr I Long proposes to wear as a substantial S examle of what the mines of Gold z Mountain district are aalle of do lug In referring to the Mammoth Mr I Long stated that the mine was looking I exceedingly well and that in Its devel f opment this summer he has blocked out splendid bodies of good milling ore i the mineral chutes being accompanied by streaks or small bodies of high grade i stuff which are fairly alive with the yellow metal as well as with silver the invariable companIon of the king of metals and so flattering is the showing S show-ing that Mr Long states it is the intention in-tention to build a tenstam mill and i concentrator at the mine in the spring and that with this in view he wi increase in-crease the force this fall and work the property all winter it being the expectation i expec-tation that by the time the mill is UD and in operation enough ore will be blocked out ready for extraction to i keep the plant in ctnstant operation for an indefinite period 1r Lonz looks for the erection of several other mills in the district during dUr-ing the coming year and he says that several other properties will most likely continue work all winter among the number being the Golden Star the Annie An-nie Laurie the Silver King and possibly pos-sibly the Sevier there being no doubt a to the latter i the mining suit in which the mine is involved and which comes UD for a hearing today is decided de-cided in favor of Charlie Lammers dorf and the Sevier company and in his mention of these properties Mr Long stated that they were all looking well and that the district was never before in such promising onditon as at the present time The building of the wagon road from the Annie Laurie down Mill creek to the Y on the Rio Grande Western road which is progressing nicely will aid much in the develoment of the district dis-trict and It will also be a credit to the camp This road will be 12 feet in the clear with eight feet of sold roadbed while the road from the Annie Laurie to the Mammoth which is being built by the owners of the Mammoth property prop-erty will be 14 feet in the clear with a roadbed of nine feet From a Indications Gold Mountain will be the scene of great activity during dur-ing the coming year and as develop lent and exploration progresses in the camp the fact becomes more and more apparent that this section Is doubtless destined to mae a record in time as one of the greatest gold producing sec tons of the state |
