Show DISCKAROPBBYAS M Fifteen of the Sit Applications Bave Been Grate Washington Sept 27The mission of Colonel Bryan commanding the ThIrd Nebraska infantry to Washington Washing-ton for the discharge of a number of enlisted men of that regiment who desIre de-sIre to leave the military service and return to their homes has so far been only partially successful There have been 75 of these applications received at the war department They all came through the regular channels While by the regimental all of them were approved mental officers including the colonel commanding the majority of them were disapproved by either the brigade division or corps commander So fa but 15 of the applications have been favorably fa-vorably acted upon and the discharge of the men ordered In these cases the applicants are marrIed men with families fami-lies depending upon them and their applications ap-plications were regularly approved by all the reviewing authorities including General Fitzhugh Lee commanding the Seventh army corps to which the Third Nebraska is attached There are still 60 cases un acted UDon by the depart mont I |
