Show v WHAT WOULD MR ELDREDGE DO The people of this state are more interested in the silver question than any other and hence the attitude of congressional nominees towards that question is most important The Republican nominee for representative repre-sentative to congress Mr Alma Ei dredge stands on a platform that declares de-clares for free silver and at the same time endorses the McKinley administration adminis-tration which is pledged to do all in I its power to strengthen the gold standard stand-ard ardIf If lilr Eldredge were elected would he stand by silver through thick and thin or would he stand by the administration admin-istration through thick and thin If he went into the Republican caucuses cau-cuses would he abide br their decision on the silver as well as on all other questions or would he bolt them if the decision was against silver These are most important questions and the people expect lilr EldredSe to answer them If he does not answer them they will take his silence to mean that he is either vacillating and without with-out conviction or that he contemplates treachery to silver should he be elected It will not do for 111 Eldredge to say that the questions here asked will be answered by him when they present themselves at a future time They must be answered now that the people may know In the event of his election what will be his course when they do arise as they inevitably will Speak up 111 Eldredge |
