parties afternoon teas and informal gatherings by made the week a gay one I J The wedding and reception of Miss I Grace Young and Mr Kenneth Kerr r the reception tendered to Col and Mrs Theaker by the officers and ladies of r Fort Douglas with the card party given at the Manitou by Mrs Green and Mrs Syms were among the notable nota-ble features of the week the wedding and reception taking precedence t > The bride who is the accomplished daughter of Judge and Mrs LeGrande Young has long been a leader in the I literary work of one of the leading womens clubs and is widely known in I I social circles Mr Kerr of the Tribune although originally from Washington has resided in Utah so long that he is counted almost a native son The wedding took place at the residence I resi-dence of the brides parents at Red Butt Hollow and was witnessed only by the immediate family After the ceremony a large and brilliant bril-liant reception was held the guests consisting mostly of the younger members mem-bers of society The exterior and interior in-terior of the house were beautifully doooratpd Through the grqunds andover and-over the porches were hung Chinese lanterns and upon entering the house the guests were received by the young couple and Tudge and Mrs LeGrand Young and Mr and Mrs William Reid assisted by Mrs J M Bidwell Mn Frank Jennings Misses Burton Miss 1 1 Alton Young Miss highest bidder at the stock exchange yesterday I and netted a neat sum to the management manage-ment The two ladies l who lead in the race for the carnival queen will appear on the stage and a demonstration demonstra-tion is expected from their friends The purchasers of the stalls have already made arrangements for some very swell parties while the governor with L hg a party of friends will
