Show WOODRUFF DIVORCE SUIT Mr Woodruff Files an Answer and Cross Complaint The defendant in the divorce suit of Arthur L Woodruff against Mattie A Woodruff filed an answer and fcrosscom plaint in which defendant denies that she has ever been unmindful of her duties asa as-a wife and denies that she ha a violent temper which she lias not attempted to Control She also denies that sh abused the plaintiff struck him or tore his coat She avers that since the complaint in this action was filed through and by reason of the importunities and deception of the plaintiff the marriage relation of husband hus-band and wife between the plaintiff and defendant has been continued and that they have cohabited together as husband and wife By way of crosscomplaint the defendant defend-ant alleges that the plaintiff has not since the marriage provided her with a suitable home and the necessaries of life as became be-came their condition and that the plain cme tiff has treated the defendant with extreme tif treme cruelty and that on May 1 1896 while the defendant was renting and taking tak-ing charge of the rooms in the Daft block h < left her stating that he would never return to her nor live with her asher as-her husband and afterwards it is alleged al-leged he called her the vilest of names at various times and abused her shamefully shame-fully and ha at other times told people this his wife a a d b and that he would not live with her Mrs Woodruff I alleges lve supplied the furnture I for their house but he has refused to allow al-low her l to have any of the said furniture fur-niture although requested t do so She niure he has not given her a dollar for months although employed with the R G W Railway company and earning S90 Ralwa to 100 a month and also possesses real 10 of the value of 1500 Mrs Woodruff therefore prays for a divorce 25 a month alimony attorneys fees and costs The plaintiff was ordered to show cause on June 13 why he should not pay temporary the tem-porary suit alimony pending the hearing of |
