Show A lONG THE LITIGANT That Suit Against the SL Band L Association THE OFFICERS STIRRED U A Letter to the Stockholders Issued The City Railway Company WinsA Partnership DisputeAn Action Brought Tjy the Board of Education Edu-cation Judgments Entered The officers and stockholders of the Salt Lake Building and Loan association are highly indignant over what they term foundationless and scandalous allegations contained in complaint filed by Joseph C Davis against that company Davis wants a sale made by the company in August last set aside on account of alleged regularities and then goes on to charge the officers with mismanagement and with diverting funds of the association The action is similar in most respects to one brought by Mabel A Johnson some time ago and which resulted in favor of he association E W Tatlock is the attorney in the latter suit as he was in the first and the officers of tne association yesterday issued a letter to the stockholders in which the attorney is handled without gloves The letter concludes as follows All of the books and records of the association are open to the inspection of any stockholder at all times and the closest investigation is invited Notwithstanding Not-withstanding the recent financial stringency string-ency and the falling real estate market in this city for the past three years this association during the four years it has been in existence shows a nottearning of nearly double that of any similar organization i organ-ization in the city This attack on the board of directors being the result of its efforts to serve the best interests of the stockholders and to save the money of the association from being wasted the directors now appeal to the stockholders for support and approval of their action But i in the opinion of the stockholders a change of officers is desirable de-sirable this board will cheerfully resign and give place to such officers as may be selected SJThe answer will be filed in a few days and it is intimated that it will be interesting inter-esting reading The Salt Lake Building Loan association associ-ation has been in existence over four years and ranks high among corporations tions of that class |
