| Show JOSEPHITE CONFERENCE I The ReOrcanized Church of Je ug Christ of LatterDay Saints in Conference LoMANl Iowa April 7The worlds general annual conference of the reorganized re-organized Church of Jesus Christ of Lat terday Saints assembled here yesterday with over five hundred representatives and delegates present Joseph Smith son of Joseph Smith the founder of the Mormon Church was chosen to preside The forenoon session was consumed with speeches by Joseph Smith W W Blair A H Smith and others These people claim to be the representatives representa-tives of the successors of the original church and are now engaged in an important I im-portant legal action for the recovery from I the present occupants the temple lot in Independence Mo They allege that all property rights of the original church belong be-long to them Ti3 afternoon session was taken up with the reading of the church treasurer and recorders report and the reports of the ministry The recorders report shows an increase in membership in the last year of over 2000 the greatest increase the reorganization re-organization has ever had The reports of the ministry show a bright outlook and erenerally breathed a hopeful tone There was preaching at night by Elder Thomas Doty California and a meeting for prayer held this morning |
