The Minnie C ElKln Lost NEW YORK Oct 5News of the first disaster as the result of yesterdays gala came in a dispatch this morning from St Johns N B It was to the effect that the British barkentine Minnie C Elkin wa wrecked and that her crew was undoubtedly lost The barkentino had on board about twenty people inclusive of her officers and the captains wife and baby August 19 she left St Johnsand that is the last overseen over-seen of her until she was passed bottom up and abandoned What became of those onboard on-board is not kno vn
