attendance at the Driving park yesterday afternoon The I first event on the programme was a yearling i year-ling trot halfmile heats best two in three for a purse of 5200 The starters were the Bast colt Mr Ewings colt Mr Hardys colt and the Harris colt The youngsters flitted up to the judges stand in fine order and got a good send off The Bast colt quickly took the lead and was not headed although the Harris colt crowded him a little on the strntcb Mr Ewings horse came in third Time 150 Basts colt shot to the front again in the second heat and led the procession all the way around the Ewing colt coming in second sec-ond Time 147 The second race was for threeyearolds mile heats best three in five tho contestants contest-ants being Coxcomb Electric ty Dennis Goldie and Inkeno In the first heat Goldie led to the quarter quar-ter closely pressed by Dennis At the half the latter closed up the gap and the pair came down to the stretch neck and neck Then Dennis made a spurt which carried him under the wire length ahead of Gol I the with Electricity third Time 241 A good start was effected in the second heat and Dennis quickly forged to the front Goldie was closing up the gap as the stretch was neared when she suddenly went off her feet and when pulled up came to a dead stop and refused to move Dennis of course was an easy winner with Electricity second Time 242 Goldie made a desperate struggle in the third heat but when urged went off her feet again and fell behind Electricity settled set-tled down to work and overtaking Dennis overtakiny the two passed under the wire so close together to-gether that cries of dead heat were heard from the grand stand Dennis was the winner however by a nose and thus took the race in three straight heats Time 41 Then came the trotting race for the 250 class the starters being Phil Sheridan Jessie B Lady Pomp and Leek In tho first heat Leck took the lead and held it to the half At the threequarter pole the racers were all bunched aud it was a close finish Lady Pomp passed under the wire first with Leek a close second and Jessie third Time 243 In the second heat Leek once more took the lead but was overtaken at the stretch by Jessie and Sheridan Jessie took the heat with Sheridan second Time 23S In the third heat Sheridan set the pace to the quarter but fell behind and Lady Pomp went to the front Leek gradually gained on the mare and they cauiu down the stretch neck and neck Tho finish was so close that tho judges had some difficulty in deciding i but they finally gave the heat to Lady Pomp Time24 Lady Pomp took the third heat easily Time24P The last tvent was a fiveeighths dash between Blue Dick Dwarf Regent and Fred B There was so much joakying at the start that the patience of the spectators specta-tors was exhausted before the word was finally given Dwarf took the lead Hirst Dick close bebind him The finish was very exciting first one horse leading and then the other When close to the wire Dick alain shot ahead and passed under the wire first The judges thought that Fred B was not out to win and believing that the race was not on the square da again dared today it off and ordered an oath before the judges that ho had no knowledge of the horse further than that he was engaged to drive drvo him Put Beahan swore to his positive identity of the animal and said he was none other than Jim Page and mentioned tracks where he had seen him run The judges on this evidence expelled the horse from the track and declared all pools off on him There was much dissatisfaction over the result of the live eighths mile dash but the judges tried to act impartially und according accord-ing to rules I Jessie B is not Jim Page thoa Jessie B will be heard from again The horse was a
