Show LAND DECISION REVERSED The Secretary of the Interior Passes on an Old Land Grant WASHINGTON May 11n the case of the Tumacaconi Mexican grant with the Gadsden purchase in Arizona the secretary secre-tary of the interior has decided that the eightieth section of the act of July 2 1854 applied to Mexican and Spanish land grants in Arizona and lands to the extent that claims made before the surveyors sur-veyors general of those territories placed by law in the reservation until the final I act of congress confirming or rejecting i the claims Final action however is i now delegated to the court of private land claims consequently the reservation will continue until final action by the court This decision reversed that of the commissioner commis-sioner and forbids him to open the lands claimed by grantee to settlement |
