Show SIGNED BY TH TRUSTES 1 I I The Grand Finale i the Copper Plant Negotiations KAEEICK GIVES A BOND Subscribers Kotiiiea That 50000 Is < Payable at Once t Entlinslafttic Comment by Some of the Trustees Mr Green Starts for Salt Lake Next Week Surveyors Locating the Buildings The grand finale in the copper plant negotiations was presented at the rooms ol the Business Mens association at 4 oclock yesterday afternoon when the trustees met to sign the contract The document was signed by all of the trustees except two Messrs J S Cameron and M H Walker who were out of the city I was decided that 5 per cent of the subscriptions amounting to 50000 should be called for at once and notices will be sent out today to the 800 subscribers The payments will be made to L O Kar rick the treasurer The trustees decided de-cided that Mr Karrick should give a bond in the sum of 50000 which he will file at once Thus the last formality was disposed of and the copper plant deal closed The trustees were in high feather over the happy termination of a long and hard struggle and hearty congratulations followed fol-lowed Even conservative Mr Karrick whose serenety is seldom disturbed made rosy prophesies of the benefits that would follow fol-low the establishment of the copper plant I believe it will make good times said he I will stimulate the development develop-ment of copper claims and compensate for the stagnation in lead mining I believe be-lieve it will also result in the building of a Deep Creek road Judge Loofbourow was equally enthusiastic en-thusiastic A gentleman from Denver told me the other day that we did not realize how much this copper plant was going to benefit us He said a common expression in Denver now was Well Salt Lake has waked up She has got that smelter and is going right ahead A party of surveyors were set to work on the copper plant site yesterday locating locat-ing the various buildings Mr Green will leave Milwaukee for Salt Lake about April 2 |
