Show I AMUSEMENTS THE HOME DRAMATIC CLUB The pressure on our columns necessitates I necessi-tates brevity in speaking of the very successful suc-cessful production of the elegant comedy j of The Magistrate at the theatre last night The house was jammed Indeed there was a crush at the doors for a considerable con-siderable time before opening The play introduced all the familiar faces of the club whose names were given in last I Sundays HERAUJ Any persons who i looked for amateurish acting must have been greatly disappointed Messrs I Wells Young Evans Spencer Pierce and Barlow Mrs H M Wells Miss i Clawson and Miss Claridge carried themselves them-selves spoke and moved like thoroughly I trained Thespians and of course brought out the heartiest and sincerest applause But we cannot particularize individual i merits Those who were not present last I night will have an opportunity to seeThe see-The Magistrate tonight after which I it will be withdrawn t give place to The World which will hold the boards on Saturday and Monday nights I One of the attractions last night was the new scenery painted by Anderson I The Deseret Minstrels succeed the Home Dramatic company for one night i Tuesday only for which the sale of seats i will open tomorrow These performers I have attested their ability and disposition j to please and are well worthy of the I publics patronage |
