Show Judge To Decide On Trial In Murder FARMINGTON -- Second District Judge J. Duffy Palmer will decide if a trial is needed for a 38-year-old transient charged with murder of a fellow fel-low traveler as the freight train they were riding passed through Davis County. JUDGE PALMER will here information in the case from both the prosecuting and defense de-fense counsel and then determine deter-mine if a trail should be held against William E. Thomas, the defendant, who is charged with causing the death of Marc Niles ( Boxcar) Hansen, w hose battered body was found along the railroad tracks in West Bountiful last May 9. Deputy County Atty. Mel Wilson said the defendant recently re-cently took a lie detector test and passed it. "Now I have decided to present the facts, as 1 understand them, to the judge and let him determine if a trial should be held," said Attorney Wilson. ANOTHER transient, Edward Ed-ward Santaw, 34, is undergoing under-going psychiatric evaluations while awaiting trial in the same death case. |
