Show Gymnasts Complete Summer Of Activities teams from Utah and other states. Their state meet is in May and qualifiers go on to regional region-al s and hopefully to national competitions. These girls are dedicated, hardworking, talented gymnasts that deserve de-serve credit for their work and accomplishments. U.S. A Gymnastics World has completed a summer of activity, including various classes, participation in Boun-tiful's Boun-tiful's Handcart Days parade, and taking part on the 24-25th of July program at the Valley Music Hall Regional Center. The school is now preparing for fall and winter schedules. U.S.A. Gymnastic World's competitive teams, name "Saltos," begin their season of competition in September. THE SALTOS teams compete com-pete at three levels in accordance accord-ance with the rules of the U.S. Gymnastics Federation; the governing body of competitive gymnastics in the United States. The beginning level at the school is the pre-team. The girls qualify to be members of the pre-team through the general gen-eral class programs. They are taught the Advanced Beginning Begin-ning level or Class 3 compulsory compul-sory routines. They work out at the school three times per week practicing routines on all 4 women's Olympic events: uneven un-even parallel bars, balance beam, vault, and floor exercise. exer-cise. THE GIRLS compete at meets every six weeks trying to attain a 28.00 all-around score and qualify for the Class III team. The Class III team are girls at the advanced beginning level of competition. These gymnasts compete against other teams in Utah, using the compulsory routines. Class Ill's in Utah compete at an annual State Meet This year that meet will be in January. The Saltos will have 28 Class III gymnasts competing compet-ing from September-January. Girls at the Class III level work out at least 6 hours per week at Gymnastics World. CLASS II gymnasts are girls at the intermediate level. These girls usually spend 10 hours a week working out. The gymnasts at this level compete using USGF compulsory routines and optional routines. The optional routines are put together by the coaches and the girls, to fit their personality and ability. The Saltos Class II's compete com-pete against teams from Utah. Nevada. Idaho and Arizona in dual and triangular meets. They will participate in the State Meet in May and qualifiers quali-fiers will go on to regional competition. com-petition. This year the Saltos will have sixteen gymnasts competing at the Class II level. THE CLASS I gymnasts are girls at the advanced level of competition. This year the Saltos Sal-tos have a 10 member Class I team. These girls work out 6 days a week, comprising about 16 hours.
