Show A Threatened Lynching famed NASHVILLE Tenn April 29A largo number of men from Goodlettsviile and neighborhood camo in tonight and gathered gath-ered near Davidson county jail apparently waiting further accessions to their force before attempting to take the men charged with outraging Miss Bruce Wednesday night The riot alarm was rung calling the entire police force of the city to tho spot who succeeded in dispersing the mob before thoy accomplished their purpose At 2 oclock am everything In and about the jail is quiet There were no casualties cas-ualties of consequence attending the dispersing dis-persing of the mob as far ascan be learned One countryman was rathor severely clubbed by a policeman and a man shot on the outside of the building but not seriously wounded The mob offered some resistance to the officers who comprised com-prised entire police and detective force of the city commanded by Chief Hadley Clark but wero effectually dispersed The leader of the mob promised Governor Buchanan that no further attempt will be made to get tho prisoners out of jail and no further trouble is anticipated |
