Show Kiiapps Supreme Contempt Ogden April 10ESpecialNo man was ever as candid in the confession of his contempt fo the orders of a court as Superintendent Knapp when on the witness stand tonight When asked at what hour the writ had been served on him he answred it was 1030 the right before In violation of the writ and direct commands of the court however he the next morning notified and required the men to vacate the identical cars which the court had ordered the company to keep them in He also emphatically stated his reason rea-son for vacating the cars was that they might be used at any time they were required for the ordinary business of the company After being closely pressed by Attorney Attor-ney Van Cott however and squirming to extricate himself from a most unenviable position the superintendent confessed most positively that whenever when-ever his superior officers of the company com-pany may order him to do any act which would be in violation of the order of the court he would not hesitate hesi-tate in obeying his superiors and disregarding disre-garding the mandate of the court This to in Judge Miners presence How it struck the court was not revealed re-vealed The spectators and counsel were astounded as-tounded |
