| Show Sentenced for Larceny An individual whose tendency to inebria J1on has been his love for some years was allowed to sleep in a saloon some nights since he being intoxicated During the night he arose and quietly deposited a couple gallon demijohns of strawberry brandy on the outside of the building The following two days he bad a high time on the strength of his little venture until Officer McCullouch suspected that something was wrong and took him in tow The culprit succeeded in freeing himself from the officers offi-cers but was finally landed in jail His case came before Justice Smith Friday and after considerable evidence had been hoard the court took the matter under advisement until Saturday On that day the prisoner was sentenced to serve sixty days in the city bastile and pay a fine of 20 and costs This means he will serve in the neighborhood of ninety days under the careful surveillance of Jailor Crockett The officers trust his case will prove a warning to several other inebriates who are traveling the forbidden paths at present |
