High Water Nashville NASHVILLE Tenn March 9The phe nominal rise of iho river continues this morning The gauge reads 411K feet rise since Friday morning 25 > feet Much damage has been done Fifteen hundred to two thousand people are driven from i their homes Goods in warehouses and cellars cel-lars suffered much damage The river is a vast angry torrent spreading over the lowlands low-lands Nearly all the lumber yards are overflowed At police headquarters many inquiries for shelter are made Reports from all points on the river show a rising everywhere and the fullness of the Ohio and Mississippi will prevent the Cumberland Cumber-land from running down as rapidly as it otherwise would The river continues to rise ata quarter of an inch an hour but it is expected it will begin to recede this evening as reports received re-ceived from upriver points show the high water is slowly falling
