Ward Club If any one would liked to see what influence influ-ence a parade of the drum corps and marching club had in bringing out the peoplo to attend a political meeting he should have dropped into the Eighth ward Peoples Peo-ples political meeting The card standing stand-ing room only should have been hung out as the house was packed Twentyone new members were added to the roll It was decided to include companies A B and C of the Juvenile Marching club as honorary honor-ary members The boys made a fine showing on their first appearance under the direction direc-tion of John McDonald J W Fourteenth Ward An enthusiastic meeting of the Fourteenth Four-teenth Ward Peoples Party club was held last evening at tho assembly rooms Tho large attendance was indicative of the wide awake interest manifested by that political poli-tical unit A short programme was carried out consisting of readings tho answering of questions and other exercises preparatory prepara-tory to the introduction of Hon H J Grant speaker of the evening who was received with a round of applause He spoke on the political issues of the coming contest the work being done and that yet to be done in the present campaign Ho said that to fully appreciate the sweet ono must taste the bitter was an old saying but he would modify and apply it Wo dont expect to taste but can smell from afar off what Liberal rule would mean for Salt Lake city if what has been is a foretaste of what would be Tho speaker demonstrated in striking colors what the liberality of the Liberals really is They are liberal very liberal to
