Show AT ASSEMBLY HALL Addresses to Ladies by Mrs Saxon and Others Mrs Elizabeth L Saxons lecture on Social purity attracted a very large attendance at-tendance of ladies at the Assembly Hall yesterday morning The ladys address ad-dress was a most eloquent appeal to mothers of the land to unite in an earnest effort for the suppression of vice She described tba evils which beset the young and prged upon mothers the imperative necessity of establishing es-tablishing full confidence with their children which would save them from much misery Mrs Clara B Colby the next speaker made a brief and eloquent address and she was followed by Mrs Zina D H Young who spoke with fervor and great enthusiasm on the spirituality of her religion which was bailded upon the rock of revelation Mr3 Charlotte Ives Kirby was the last speaker She thou ht the Mormon women had no superiors in the world the theories of many advanced thinkers in regard to motherhood had been largely put in practice by these very Mormon women Sif WaR a believer in individuality and freedom of expression expres-sion ana tuoni thn Kcn person was accDun a1 e to themselves and to their God only fcr their words and thoughts The large audience appeared to be much peased with the meeting Yeitirday afternoon Mrs Saxon and Mrs Colby accompanied by a number of prominent ladies of this city visited Garfield Beaoh the Utah Nevada Railway courteously tendering them a special car They stated last evening to a HERALD reporter that they were much pleased with the ir visit to Salt Lake They loan today for Washington Washing-ton Territory stopping over at Ogdca tonight to lecture Both ladies nave made warm friends in Salt Like who hope to see them again |
