Show S The Wreck An extra coal train was approaching approach-ing Peterson yesterday afternoon the engine struck a gentleman cow which proved too much for its equilibrium thereby causing the engine to start out on a journey across the country with fourteen cars of coal following The engine gave up after going about sixty feet from the track and turned over on its side and the fourteen cars of coal were left some on one side of the track and some on the other No one was hurt much except the cow The regular passenger train was detained by being unable to get by the wreck and a special tram with coaches was sent out from Ogden Og-den after the passengers which came back with them at 8 oclock A wrecking train was sent up to clear the track which on the way I ran through a band of sheep killing several and also killing the dog that was watching the sheep The track i was cleared and the trained reached Ogden at midnight The Central Pacific waited for the baggage and mail but the Utah Central and the Utah and Northern went out on time without waiting for the baggage I bag-gage or mail Ogden Pilot |
