Commander Dale' Olsen of the George R. Day Post American Legion and Mrs. Olsen, who is president of the Women's Auxiliary, Mrs. Grace Carney, Veterans Hospital Hos-pital chairman and Mrs. Leona Smith attended the veterans dance at the Veterans Hospital last Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. They served refreshments, entertained and danced with the disabled veterans. .Mrs. Lois Pickett and her .falheiSithlaw Wade Pickett enjoyed an'automobjle.trip to Beaver last Friday. . . . Dr. and Mrs. J.. E. Trowbridge have spent most of the summer at their home at Island Park, Ida. They had many houseguests spend time with them. Their latest guests who enjoyed the hospitality at Grandad's cabin were Mr. and Mrs. Mars Larsen, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Swain and Mr. and Mrs. Merle Bur-ningham. Bur-ningham. Mrs. Chris Stenberg has returned home after spending time in the new Lakeview hospital. She had major sur- -gery from which she is recovering. Corporal Fritz Fisher spent last weekend with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Carl Fisher and his three brothers and two sisters. He has returned to the Marine Base at Twenty-nine Palms, Calif. The local Narfe Chapter met last Mondav at the South Davis Library Building. President Horten Hess conducted con-ducted the meeting and discussed dis-cussed Narfe legislation. Mr. Hess stressed a need for increased membership. There are many federal retirees re-tirees who are eligible to become members of Narfe. They are needed to help with the program of Narfe which covers many benefits for members. The group holds regular monthly meetings at the South Davis Library building. All members are urged to attend the November meeting and bring a new member. Friends and neighbors called to greet R. LaMar Barlow on his 80th birthday anniversary last Sunday, Oct. 10. His wife Alice and Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Barlow Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Stahle greeted the guests and helped with serving the refreshments. refresh-ments. Maurine arranged a display of family pictures showing Mr. Barlow's family, and the various stages of his , life. One special picture showed his parents and eleven children and another one showed his father with seven sons. They called the display "This is Your Life." Guests came from Davis, Salt Lake, Wasatch, and Weber counties.
