Show Get Honker With Arrow The "Show Me" state does it again. In 1974 a Missouri hunter was successful in bagging bag-ging a flying goose with a bow and arrow. Last year, another Missouri archer achieved the same result, but with a more dramatic approach. CHIP MCGEEHAN was deer hunting from a stand near a wildlife refuge when a goose flew overhead. He shot an arrow and knocked the goose down. The bird somehow managed to get airborne air-borne again, and Chip released a second arrow bringing the honker down for good. McGeehan said, "If I shot a thousand arrows, I'd never do it again." The kicker is that ten minutes later six deer walked under his stand, and he missed the one he shot at. |
