Show Coiieiliisi lid Farewell BOUNTIFUL - After a combined 28 years of service to Bountifui, Councilmen Warde Tolman and Don Perkins bid farewell to the city council last Wednesday night. COUNCILMAN Tolman has served the city 16 years while Councilman Perkins has sat on the council for 12 years. Toiman's 16 years is the most ever for a councilman and ties the total number of years served with Morris F. Swapp who served 12 years as coun-cilman coun-cilman and four years as mayor. "I've spent one-fourth oi my life (in total years) on the council and I've enjoyed every minute of it," said Councilman Tolman. "I've had the privilege of working with some real fine council members and two good mayors." COUNCILMAN Tolman said he believes he is a part of the only father-son combination combina-tion to serve on the Bou.n- tiful's City Council. He also praised the city officials and employees who have been associated as-sociated with the city during the past 16 years. Councilman Perkins also praised city officials and employees for their efforts and dedication to making Bountiful "a city we can all be proud of." "I'VE GROWN as a person while serving on the council and I want to thank all of you who have made this experience an enjoyable one," he said. Then the councilman quipped, "And we have all. had good relations with the press, let's keep it that way." |
