Show Thomas Schamp Dies Suddenly At Leeds Henry Pickett, mortician, was called to Leeds at 1 p. m., Wednesday Wed-nesday to get the body of Thomas Schamp, who died suddenly just off U. S. Highway 91, enroute on foot from the town of Leeds to the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Savage, where he has resided re-sided for several months. Obituary of Mr. Schamp, who is a veteran of the Spanish-American War will appear in next week's News, along with report of funeral fun-eral services, which will be held in the South ward chapel this i Thursday at 6 p. m. Sheriff Antone B. Prince received re-ceived a call to investigate the death at 12:15. His investigation revealed that Mr. Shamp had walked into Leeds for the mail and had returned as far as where the road turns to go to Oak Grove. He evidently had stopped and rested beside the road at that point and had toppled over into the pit beside the road. |
