I tktirteMoab Chamber of Commerce, at prfp ular Tuesday luncheon meeting, ed to pasS a simiiar motion, but I tabled the matter at the suggestion of Superintendent Pete Parry of Canyon-lands, Canyon-lands, who said the Management Plan was now being printed in Washington and would be released within about four weeks. "I believe the time to discuss the plan in detail is after it's available to the public," Parry said. The Management Plan was finalized early this summer. Its release, expected first in June, was apparently delayed when NPS Director Gary Everhardt was sacked and replaced by Whalen. The Post series, written by Zeke Scher, was originally slated to be published to coincide with the release of the Plan in Washington. After two months of waiting, however, Denver Post officials decided to proceed and not wait on the National Park Service any longer. |
