Show BOWLING A. Selby Jr., grabbed the spotlight spot-light in the Southeast Hall of Fame for October 21 to October 27 by bowling a smashing good series of 683, composed of 233, and 224 games. Art bowled with the Union Assay team on the Lumbermen's league. H. Goodro had high game for the week, roll- ing 266 in the Sugar House Maj-Jk Maj-Jk or League Monday night, and Fashion Cleaners came through with an even 1000 in one game in the league. For the ladies, Gladys Temple brought new laurels to the Cardinals Card-inals league with a beautiful 593 series. Gladys is doing some excellent ex-cellent bowling this season and will bear watching in the city tournament. tva Burnett rolled a nice 218 for high game of the week, and the Southeast team had 235 for highest series so far in the season. The play of the Southeast league lea-gue was featured by a battle between be-tween Dee's Hamburger and Bar-nett Bar-nett and Weise for top spot, ending end-ing with Dee's taking 3 points to lead the jewelers by 1 point. Des-eret Des-eret , Lumber swept the field with 4 points won, 2831 high series, and 987 high game to tie for second sec-ond place. Joe Barney was up to his old tricks with a pretty 661 series and 245 high game. Pine and Palm teams are tied for first place in the ladies Forest For-est league. Pine took 4 points with a high 2088 series and 750 game, with Madge Garton having 497 or high individual. However, Iva Burnett of the opposing Sycamores Sy-camores rolled 218 for the days high game. . Caldwell's C-Lect Market, led by Chick Lloyd with a 617 series and 254 high game, had 2686 for high series on the Southeast League last week. This team is now only one point behind the leading Birrell Bottling team. Union Assay had 2660 for high series in the Lumbermen s league and the Utah Pigeon Club rolled a 954 high game. This feature of the evening was, of course, Art Selby's Hall of Fame performance a 683 series with 233 high game. The Southeast Courts team holds first place in the Cardinal ladies league, with 21 points won and 3 lost. The rest of the story is told in the Hall of Fame. The Sugar House Merc team moved into second place in the Sugarhouse Major league this week with a 4 point win and 2757 high scries. Fashion Cleaners with H. Goodro's high 266 game had 1000 in the second game, while W. Wilkinson rolled 643 for the Red Crown team. |
