Show Reception For Couple Wed In S. L. Temple One of the lovely social events of the past week was the wedding reception for Miss Nola Loveridge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Loveridge of this city, and Virgil Stubhs, y son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Earl Stubbs of Provo. The couple was married Monday, Jan. 27, in the Salt Lake temple and the reception in their honor was held on Wednesday evening in the Second ward hall. The bride was charmingly attired at-tired in an eggshell satin wedding gown with fingertip veil of bride's illusion fashioned to her head with a wreath of tiny white blossoms. She held a lovely bouquet of gardenias gar-denias and rosebuds centered with an orchid, with streamers of white satin ribbon and tiny rosebuds. Attending the bride as matron-of matron-of -honor was her sister, Mrs. Leslie Les-lie Francis, who was attired in a blue formal. The bridesmaids, Miss Barbara Bird, Miss Marva Waters, Miss Irene Jones, Miss Joy Thorpe, wore pink formals and carried colonial bouquets and wore pretty bonnets in corresponding pastel shades. Also attending the bridal couple were little Erlene Stubbs and Roger Lambson. Fred Stubbs of Provo was best man for his brother. In the receiving line, also, were Mr. and Mrs. Loveridge and Mr. and Mrs. Stubbs. Mrs. Loveridge wore blue crepe with sequin trim while Mrs Stubbs was attired in black and white. Their corsages were of carnations and iris. Acting as host and hostesses were Mr. and Mrs. Owen Lambson and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Loveridge, Love-ridge, assisted by Reed Francis and Leon Stubbs. Bishop Ladle of the Provo Eleventh Elev-enth ward was master of ceremonies. ceremo-nies. Mrs. Maurice Bird played Mendelssohn's Wedding March and music was also furnished by Miss Norma Sumsion. Miss Norma Nor-ma Rae Ostlund gave a reading, accompanied by Mrs. Mary Bird at the organ; Golden Hanson gave vocal solos accompanied by Mrs. Bird; Gordon Childs played violin selections, accompanied by Douglas Doug-las Childs at the piano; Carol Loveridge sang vocal solos, and McKay Aldred gave a toast to the honored couple. Mrs. Dayma Grant was in charge of the gift room and refreshments were served under direction of Mrs. Etta Thorpe, assisted by Mrs. Barbara Francis and the Misses Delores Childs, Beverly Hancock, Lillian Sanford, Carol Clark and Afton Ash, who served. The serving table was prettily decorated with a lovely bouquet of roses and blue iris with tall white tapers on either side. After the program, the guests enjoyed en-joyed dancing with music furnished furnish-ed by the Night Hawks. The couple left shortly after the reception on a wedding trip to California Cal-ifornia and upon their return, plan to make their home in Provo. |
