Hill (the former Evelyn Peterson) popular young married couple, at a reception Friday evening eve-ning in the First ward. The young couple were married Wednesday, October 30, in the Salt Lake temple, with President Stephen L. Chipman officiating. The bride is the daughter of Bishop Bish-op and Mrs. Andrew G. Peterson, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Hill of Payson. Beautifully attired in a model of ivory satin with a fingertip veil caught to her head with a tiara of seed pearls, the lovely young bride carried a beautiful bouquet of pink rosebuds and regal lillies. Mrs. Harold Harmer, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and a cousin, Miss Verlaine Beardall, was maid of honor. They wore rose taffeta and yellow chiffon, respectively, and both wore corsages cor-sages of talisman roses. Bridesmaids were the Misses Fay Ferguson, Elsie Sumsion, and Ruth Crandall, and they wore gowns of rose chiffon, blue taffeta, and green taffeta, with corsages of white and pink rosebuds, respectively. respec-tively. Little flower girls were Connie Harmer, dressed in gold, and Shlrlene Day of Draper in pink. Both carried baskets of sweet peas. Best man was Ross Taylor of Payson, and ushers were Ned Hutchinson, Hut-chinson, Earl Hill and Reed Peery. Others in the receiving line were Mr. and Mrs. Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Peterson. Mrs. Hill chose black velvet and Mrs. Peterson wore black crepe with an accordion accor-dion pleated skirt. Both wore gardenias. gar-denias. Mrs. Ronald Beardall was in charge of decorations and the gift room, and assisting her with the gifts were Norma Rae Ostlund, Melba Child, Blanche Hill, and Phyllis Kindred. In the serving room, decorations were carried out according to a strict pink and blue color scheme. The table was covered with a gorgeous gor-geous lace cloth and was centered with pink rosebuds and blue sweet peas with pink and blue tapers in crystal candelabra at either end. Mrs. Theora Peterson and Leona Peterson poured and Phyllis Pe terson and Shirley Peterson served. serv-ed. Also assisting with the refreshments refresh-ments were Mrs. Mae Childs, Ida Horton, and Mrs. Nell Child. Master of ceremonies for the program was Ray Peterson, brother of the bride, and program numbers num-bers included vocal solos by Melba Merritt, Robert Peirce, and by Jerome Brown, an uncle of the groom; duet vocal numbers by Virginia and Genevieve Bird, and by Freeman Bird and Golden Taylor; and a reading by Mrs. Ella Reynolds. Dancing concluded the evening's eve-ning's entertainment. The young couple will make their home in Payson. |
