Show Local Couple Observe 54th Wedding Date ALUMNI BOOSTERS ENJOYED A PARTY given by Mrs. Bessie W. Lund and Mrs. Mildred H. Triplett on Sunday Sun-day evening, at the home of Mrs. James E. Wannacott in Salt Lake City. The group spent the time with social conversation and reminiscences, remini-scences, also Monte Carlo whist was enjoyed with high score prize going to Mrs. Gwen Z. Cutler. Others attending the party were Mrs. Pearl G. Smith, Mrs. Helen . H. Beardall, Mrs. Wealtha S. Men-denhall, Men-denhall, Mrs. Margaret W. Miner, Mrs. Verna B. Stanton, Mrs. Virginia Vir-ginia P. Harker, Mrs. Elsie H. Robertson, Ro-bertson, Mrs. Myrtice G. Pace, Mrs. Josephine S. Hubbard, Mrs. Blanch G. Hales, and Mrs. Carrie S. Jolley. Mr. and Mrs. John Hiatt, residents resi-dents of the First ward for a number of years, Wednesday observed ob-served their fifty-fourth wedding date with a family dinner at their home, Eighth South and Fourth East streets. The couple came to Utah in 1923 and to Springville in 1930. They had previously lived at a settlement set-tlement near St. Anthony, Ida., at Caldwell, Ida., Alberta, Can., and at LeGrande, Ore. Mrs. Hiatt was born at Fish Haven, Bear Lake county, Idaho, on May 14, 1870, and Mr. Hiatt at Slaterville, December 26, 1865. They have both been active in church work. Mr. Hiatt is a high priest and Mrs. Hiatt is active in Relief society work. They have five sons and daughters: daugh-ters: J. W. and Mattie Hiatt,- of Springville; Mrs. Earl Packard of Kuna, Ida.; Mrs. Lee Huff, Provo Bench; and Mrs. Carl E. Baum of LeGrande, Ore.; also 28 grand- children, three of whom are in the armed forces, and 16 greatgrandchildren. |
