Show METCALFS FETED AT OPEN HOUSE ON 60th WEDDING Congratulations and felicitations felicita-tions were received Sunday afternoon after-noon by Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Metcalf, Met-calf, who received their many friends and relatives during open house, from three to five p. m., at the home of their son, Frank Metcalf. The couple were married in the old Salt Lake Endowment house, January 18, 1881, with Rulon S. Wells officiating. The couple made their home in Springville and - Mapleton for many years after ; their marriage," taking an active part in L. D. S. church and civic affairs. In 1912 they moved to Richfield, Idaho, where Mr. Metcalf operated a ranch, returning to Springville In 1937. Mr. Metcalf was born March 19, 1859, in the old Springville fort, a son of Levi Gregory and Melissa Jane Guyman Metcalf, early pioneers pio-neers and among the first to settle set-tle in Sanpete county. . They are the parents of nine children, seven of whom are living: liv-ing: Mrs. Mae Houtz of Redlands, Calif.; Frank Metcalf, Springville; L. G. Metcalf, Modesto, Calif.; Burton and Earl Metcalf, Richfield, Rich-field, Idaho; Mrs. Lou Palfrey-man Palfrey-man and Mrs. Hazel Robertson, of Provo; also 41 grandchildren and 2 7 great-grandchildren. |
