Show Ladies Literary Club hears fine program A delightful music program was presented at the Tuesday evening meeting of the Ladies Literary Club at the home of Ms. Oliver H. Dalton. From the book, "The World of Music," by Leonard Bernstein, Bern-stein, Mrs. F. C. Packard gave a most interesting review of the development of the musical theater including musical comedy, com-edy, the variety show, operetta and opera. She was assisted in the presentation pres-entation by Mrs. Maurice Bird who played outstanding selections selec-tions from various musical hits; by Mrs. Tom Beisinger, who rendered vocal solos from a number of operas and operettas oper-ettas and Mrs. Brent Packard who sang parts from early song hits. Mrs. Bird was accompanist. ac-companist. President B e 1 v a Edwards conducted business and asked Blanch Beal to read the club collect. Mrs. E. T. Crandall gave a report on the legislative council meeting. |
