Weight Funeral services will be conducted conduct-ed Friday at 2 p.m., in the Fifth-Sixth Fifth-Sixth ward church for Mrs. Minerva Min-erva Bryan Weight, 72, who died Tuesday at the Utah Valley hospital hos-pital of a heart ailment. She has been ill two weeks and confined to the hospital five days. Bishop Grant Thorn will be in charge of the services. Friends may call at the A. Y. Wheeler and Son Mortuary Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., and before the services Friday. Fri-day. Burial will be in the City cemetery. Mrs. Weight was born in Springville Spring-ville December 6, 1883, a daughter j of Jonn and Emma Noakes Bryan, j She received her education in the Springville schools and was married mar-ried to Ralph B. Weight December Decem-ber 19, 1906, in the Manti temple. Her husband died November 2, 1951. She had made her home in Springville, always taking part in church and civic affairs. In her earlier life, she was a 1 talented reader and entertained at many church and civic functions. She was class leader of the Relief Re-lief Society visiting teacher group in the Fifth ward at the time of her death. She had served also as president of the First ward YW-MIA YW-MIA and was secretary of the Relief Re-lief Society before the ward was divided. She was a member of Camp Koda DUP and had served as captain and in other official capacities ca-pacities of the organization. Surviving are six sons and daughters: Mrs. Arthur (Wilda) Oakley and Vaun K. Weight of Springville; Ormon B. Weight and Wilford A. Weight, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Darwin (Gladys) Robbins, Santaquin; Newell B. Weight, Pro-vo; Pro-vo; also 32 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Olive Thorn Darling, Provo; Mrs. May Bird Jensen, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Beama Combs, Sutherland, Suther-land, Neb., and Mrs. G. D. Kennedy, Ken-nedy, of Springville, with whom Mrs. Weight hacmade her home since shortly after the death of her husband. |
