Howard Gallamore Kanab Seeks compassion Dear Editor: Just to let our friendly town know that there are a few people who are uncompassionate. Im very upset and angry with the 911 Dispatcher. On Monday, May 22, my dad, Allan Bruce died at our home. I knew being a CNA that he was already dead. Out of pure shock I called 911 not knowing what else to do at that moment. The Dispatcher that took my call couldnt of been more rude and heartless. She questioned me about my dad, asked me if anyone here could perform CPR. I said yes I knew how-sh- e told me to try this. I told her that he was already dead, had been for probably 30 minutes, and that he had requested DNR (do not resuscitate). There wasnt anything I could do. She questioned my dads wish of being DNR, totally uncalled for and heartless. She then went on to say, Then why are you calling us? I couldnt believe what I just heard out of panic and shock. I told her I didnt know who else to call, and ifshe could just reach someone to come out to our home. She continued to go on about the DNR wish. I got so upset and angry that I just said, forget it and hung up on her. I cant believe we have someone like that working in our friendly small town, especially working Dispatch for the 'Sheriffs office , Enter Cash Drawing Bank State OF SOUTHERN UTAH.
