Show I HUGGED THE BRIDE, Thenv There Was a Question as to Who Was the Best Man. Almost immediately after uniting a man and woman Elder David' A. Smith was called upon yesterday to keep the groom and the best tnan apart. It was the first "wedding at the city and county building in which the con- trading parties have been colored per sons. Joseph Tall and Marie Jensen, both of Salt Lake, secured a license and arranged with Elder Smith to tie the knot. The groom was uccompanled by his best man. The latter, after the cere- mony, availed himself of the traditional privilege of kissing tho bride. He went even further. He embracedl her. It was a long, warm hug. The groom overlooked the kiss, but the hug was more than he could stand for. He called hip attendant down. For a few mlnuteB the question as to who was the best jnan seemed about to be settled. Elder Smith and tho bride remonstrated. The best man apologized nnd they lived happily ever after. |
