'-7- '-: ' 1 I " ft'"' ',' ' '- I j - . , , j I " ' - Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hadrick Hall at City Park Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hadrick Hall Observe Golden Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hadrick Hall, Uintah Basin residents since the last century, celebrated celebrat-ed their golden wedding anniversary anni-versary Sept. 2 in Roosevelt. The couple, wed Sept. 2, 1900, in Grand Junction, Colo, are now observing .a helf-century of married life. Mr. Hall, born Oct. 5, 1878, in Yorkshire, Durham Co., England, arrived in Salt Lake City in 1881. He lived there nine years before moving to Vernal in 1890, where he married mar-ried Louella Jane Workman, a Vernal girl born March 24,1884. The couple later received their endowments in the Salt Lake LDS temple. After residing in Vernal for six years, they homesteaded in Haycen in 1906, soon after the reservation was opened to settlement. Four years later, in March 1910, they moved to Al- terra where they farmed for I the next 36 years. For nine years of this time, Mr. Hall was ! employed at the Agricultural I Experiment station. ! In 1946 they moved to Long I Beach, Calif, where they lived for two years. They are now making their home in Roosevelt, Roose-velt, where Mr. Hall is employed em-ployed by Roosevelt city. Both are active members of the LDS church. Mr. Hall was an MIA officer at Alterra for 30 years, Mrs. Hall president of the Alterra primary for three years and a primary teacher for 30 years. She is now a Relief Re-lief Society teacher in the Roosevelt Roos-evelt second ward. The couple are the parents of eight living children: Mrs. Roberta H. Pike, Robert Leland, Don and Byron Hall, and Mrs. Hilda White, all of Long Beach, Calif.; Stanley and LeRoy Hall, and Mrs. Ann Gardner, Roosevelt. Roos-evelt. They have 20 grandchildren, grandchil-dren, and 14 great-grandchildren. |
