Show lt CfflincitJ Gayle Case Birth Of Christ Told In Song And Story "The Birth of Christ" was beautifully told in song and story, Thursday night, by the Altamont High School and Elementary El-ementary Grades, when they presented their annual Christmas Christ-mas Pageant. The pageant was produced by Principal Howard Barron. Woods and music were compiled from the Bible and famous carols by Dale Allred and Afton Smithson, assisted by Pauline Winkler. Tableau scenes and costumes were by Mrs. Opal Gomm and Mrs. Edyth Hansen. Appropriate scenery was painted by Mrs. Gomm and her advanced art class. Carols and hymns were sung by the high school and elementary elemen-tary choruses, conducted by Miss Smithson, with accompaniments accompan-iments played by Mrs. Hansen. Soloists in the singing group were Venna Oman, Veretti Gomm and Curtis Dastrup. Chants were recited by a voice chorus directed by Dale Allied and reading was done by Marilyn Mari-lyn Goodrich. Nedra Swasey, Ella El-la Swasey and Richard Beck-stead. Beck-stead. Lorin Allred and the string orchestra played background back-ground music. Characters presented in the tableau scenes were Mary, Leda Beckstead and Carol Bleazard; Joseph, Lyle Oman and Clyde Goodrich; Shepherds, Don Carroll, Car-roll, Willard Bowden and Jerry Carroll; Wise Men, Bob Goodrich, Good-rich, Durrell Farnsworth and Trent Clark; Herod. Barton Bennion; Angel, Bessie Lisonbee. Lison-bee. Mrs. Edwin Clegg, of Salt Lake, is here to show her new baby girl to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Miles. The nine students from Mt. Emmons who are attending in stitutions of higher learning have arrived home for the holidays. holi-days. Lorraine and Neal Dastrup Das-trup are here from Ephraim and the Snow College; Cecil Wall, from the U.S.A.C ; Wanda Sadler. Sad-ler. Jean Mecham, Don Evans, Dean Case, Peggy Ann Case and George Case, from the B.Y.U. Cliff and John Titcomb are enjoying furloughs from military mili-tary duty. Mrs. Thomas McDonald (La Vada Powell) and Mrs. Max Clark (Arlene Boswell), who have employment in Salt Lake, were Christmas guests of their respective parents, Mrs. LaVirda Powell and Mr. and Mrs. Volney Boswell. The husbands of the young women are in military service. |
